Immigrant Dream (移民梦) is a Chinese novel written by Bobbie Jia, which follows the journey of multiple first-generation Chinese Canadians as they adapt and grow into their new life in Canada. The novel explores the diverse experiences of international students, cross-cultural relationships, as well as Chinese participation in politics, investment, and entrepreneurship.
The novel is serialized in Health Times (Ottawa branch), a Chinese newspaper with branches across Canada. I worked with Health Times to produce illustrations over the span of 2 months, depicting key events of each weekly chapter. My goal was to accurately capture important aspects of the story, translating them into easily understandable illustrations that all readers can follow.
